Lifeguard — Camp McLean

TERM: July 1 – August 23, 2024. This position is a full-time, 8 week commitment.

Duties:  

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • The safety and well-being of all swimmers and campers in the pool area with a goal of 0 (zero) accidents
  • The planning and implementation of water activities for all campers attending the water program
  • Maintaining proper chemical levels in the pool 
  • Maintaining accurate records of pool maintenance and any incident reports 
  • Assisting with other camp duties as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • National Lifesaving Certification (NLS)
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Valid Criminal Record Check or willing to obtain one (n/a to applicants under the age of 18)
  • Successful applicant will be required to complete the Scouts Canada Screening and Training requirements
  • Enthusiasm
  • Strong Interpersonal and Group Management Skills
  • Ability to work within a Team Environment
  • Experience working with children would be an asset
  • Ability to engage youth in planning and facilitating pool games and activities
  • A desire to have FUN.

 

WAGE:

This is a contract position and a total salary, commensurate with skill and experience, will be established for the contract period.
