Top Section Awards Registration 2024

Welcome to the official page of the Pacific Coast Council top section awards!

In Scouts Canada, each section (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers) have a top section award that go along with them. Top section awards are made for youth in their final years of scouting to pursue as a project to connect with their community and gain scouting skills all at the same time. For the younger generations, these are known as the North Star Award and the Seasonee Award and for older sections they are known as the Chief Scouts Award (CSA), Queens Venturer Award (QVA), and Canadian Rover Scout Award (CRSA). This year Pacific Coast Council is pleased to announce that will will be holding two award ceremonies. One for our younger sections (Beavers and Cubs) and one for our older sections (Scouts, Venturers, and Rovers).

We are accepting applications for either ceremony at this time. If you are a scout leader who has been assisting youth in completing their top section awards, you may have remembered that the application form was a paper copy. PCC has now transitioned to digital registration forms. You can find more about this below. 

The date for this event has been confirmed. The event will take place on Sunday, June 9th, 2024. Junior sections will have their award ceremony from 10:00-12:00 while senior sections will attend from 13:00-15:00. The location of the event will be shared with registrated youth however will be in the Burnaby region.  

To register yourself or a youth for a top section award:

1. Make sure you have completed the applicable top section award requirements. These can be found below:

2. Once you have verified that you have completed the appropriate requirements for your sections award, please speak to your Scouter to register and confirm your award completion with the council.

Note: Registrations are being accepted until April 30th, 2024. Please have this step completed before this date

3. Closer to the event date, all recipients will receive an email regarding the ceremony which will request further information from each youth. Please keep an eye out for this information closer to the ceremony date!

The event will take place on June 9th, 2024. The location of the event will be shared with registrants however for planning purposes, it will be located in the greater burnaby area.

While many of the smaller details to this event are still in the works, we will be following all health guidlines put forth by the province of British Columbia, Scouts Canada, and the location of the event. All guests attending the event will be expected to adhere to these guidelines as well. As we continue to build our safety plan, we will keep all families updated!
