Leave No Trace Nature Collage

Use sticks, leaves, and stones your find on the ground to make a collage! A bare patch of sand or rock can be your canvas. Have your Scouter take a picture of your creation! You can make your own collage, or team up with others to create something together.

Plan

  • When and where will you share this adventure?
  • What do you need to bring?
  • What will you try to show with your collage?
  • What other fun things can you do in nature?

Do

  • Create a Leave No Trace nature collage!
  • Try making more than one!
  • Don't forget, only gather items that you find on the ground (do not pull leaves, flowers, etc. off of plants or trees).
  • When your collage is finished, return your supplies to where you found them - after all, principle four of Leave No Trace is "leave what you find."

Review

  • What do you know now that you did not know before?
  • What did you show with your collage?
  • What did others create?
  • How did you make your collage?
  • What other fun things did you get up to?

Keep it Simple

  • Use a stick to draw a picture in the dirt. Then, use natural materials to bring it to life! Make trees out of leaves and sticks, or use rocks to create a pathway

Take it Further

  • Preserve some leaves as you learn how to wax leaves!
