June 3rd, (Saturday) 9am to June 4th, 4 pm, 2023 at Camp Seeonee.

There are 11 spaces available

Preliminary information about the "outdoor skills" indaba below.  I will not know the cost of the food for camp until closer to the date, once I know dietary concerns and food costs.

You may come out to Camp the Friday night before camp, if that works better for traveling, but bring your breakfast for Saturday morning.  All other meals will be provided unless you need some special food which I can’t provide.

Groups will have to purchase you your knecker and woggle.  When you have completed Part 1 and 2, I will contact your Group Commissioner and let them know that you have successfully completed the training and that they need to purchase your recognition and present it to you.

There are a few spaces left for the 2 "Outdoor skills" Indaba planned for June, 2023. The content is the same during each session, just different dates and locations.  The spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis.  I will be away during some of April and most likely will not respond to emails but the order that I receive your email will be used to fill the spots.  I will let you know about your registration after April 25th.

 June 24th, (Saturday) 9 am to June 25th, 4 pm, 2023 at John/Christy Balbar’s Farm, McLean Saskatchewan.

There are NO spaces available

The cost of camp is approximately 40 – 50 dollars. This covers the cost of the food. I will let you know the exact amount closer to time when the menu is planned.  I will be working in cash as I don’t have a bank account to run the money through. (I will accept a cheque made out to Shirley Larson).  The Camp space has been donated, so the only cost is food.  I will provide receipts and a financial record after camp. Any overage will be donated to the facility/Group.

Please contact me at slarson@scouts.ca to register for your spot.

Yours in Scouting,

Shirley Larson and Patti Kent

Covid-19 updates

The Federal government has just announced the approval of COVID-19 vaccines for youth between the ages of 5 and 11. Scouts Canada has previously announced we expect to extend our vaccine mandate for all persons consistent with Federal guidance.

Due to this most recent announcement, we will be reviewing the guidance and adapting our policies accordingly.
We anticipate there will be an implementation period but as of now, there is no immediate change to our policy; youth 5-11 can continue to participate in Scouting activities in-person. Once we have more details we will communicate timelines, including aiming to provide a reasonable approach to allow for ample time for scheduling two doses. More updates will be available in the coming weeks.
Scouts Canada has consistently used guiding principles to shape our response and requirements. We continue to support the federal government and associated health authorities that widespread vaccine coverage is our best way to end the pandemic.
We have also updated the Covid Vaccine FAQs on our website to include this latest development.
